Kapton is a polyimide film with Teflon applied helically over the conductor, providing high resistance to damage caused by the corona effect. Kapton FCR has been developed for use as magnet wire insulation in traction motors and/or railway partial discharge applications, as well as generators where there is a need for improved insulation that performs in partial discharge environments.
